Manager, Online Marketing - Banana Republic (San Francisco, CA)
Description - The Marketing Manager will have an important role in the strategic development and execution of all online promotions for Banana Republic.
- Develop and execute compelling and competitive promotions strategy in order to drive online traffic, conversion and sales
- Forecast and hindsight effectiveness of promotional campaigns. Manage and communicate promotional calendar
- Develop clear objectives, strategies and tactics to increase the value of Banana Republic’s customer segments through customer lifecycle management
- Partner with marketing, merchandising, planning and creative teams to understand key business and learning objectives, and create a testing plan that will provide actionable insights
- Transfer online direct marketing knowledge to other influential organizational functions (e.g., brand marketing, merchandising, finance, planning, business development, etc.)
- Align with Banana Republic Brand to ensure appropriate online support of strategic growth initiatives and business drivers
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Develop tools for consolidating key metrics and sharing with management
- Other assignments as required
- Key organizational relationships: CRM team, Banana Republic Brand and GID leadership teams, Gap and Old Navy online and brand marketing teams, Planning, Product Management, Creative & Production teams, Merchandising, Strategic customer analytics and External vendors and agencies
Qualifications - Applicants should have familiarity with and/or appreciation of CRM principles such as segmentation, customer loyalty programs, email campaigns and data mining
- Very strong strategic and analytical thinking, as well as communication and management skills required.
- Must be passionate about understanding customer behavior and be able to translate those findings into meaningful, actionable insight.
- Ability to lead in a dynamic work environment and across many functional teams and levels of the organization.
- Quantitative skills: Affinity for finance and evaluating analytical situations and leveraging existing information systems to extract relevant and actionable insights.
- Makes informed and confident decisions and recommendations based on complex information and shares that perspective in a clear, timely and effective manner.
- Able to interpret actionable data for a broad audience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel of finance required. Experience with marketing database management and database systems, E.piphany or equivalent software experience preferred.
- Omniture experience a plus.
- Highly effective and active participate/leader in a variety of formal presentation settings (one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports and management); is effective both inside and outside of the organization; commands attention and can manage group process; able to build strong cross-functional relationships and lead functional team.
- 4-year degree in Marketing/Finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- MBA a plus
- 4+ years relevant ecommerce experience
