Data Analyst/Modeller, 1 year (Richmond, VA)

Job Description: Mgr will do a phone IV if out of town but will have to do a face-to-face interview within a 2-3 day window.

• Responsible for working with business users and IT development team to define business data requirements and transforming those business data requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models and identify data sharing opportunities.
• Proficiency in the design and development of transactional (ODS) modeling, dimensional modeling, data warehouse design, both on-line transactional data stores (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP), and development of data structures within relational and multi-dimensional database architectures.
• Perform data quality analysis, gather information to determine data sources, data targets, data definitions, data relationships, document business rules, and develop data quality metrics.
• Proficiency in Oracle, creating SQL/PLSQL queries, and performing data validation and verification
• Proficiency in creation of scripts, triggers, stored procedures, and packages.
• Knowledge of ETL concepts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the design and building of data models to support business reporting and analysis
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical personnel both verbally and in writing.
• Assist in the development, execution and documentation of system and integration test plans and update and maintain metadata.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of database full life cycle design and application development
• Estimates time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Determines and enters changes to metadata descriptions, including type, structure, and intended use of data within system.
• Creates description to enable developers to understand how programs should access data.
• Must be a team-player and be able to work closely with technical teams and business users
• Assist DBA with developmen! t of phy sical databases
• Knowledge of defect tracking and version control processes and tools
• Change Management Process experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in application development using .NET, Web applications, web services, and SOA in an Oracle environment very beneficial.
• Knowledge of methodologys.
• Prior implantation experience in similar organization a plus
• Experience of similar scale roles and organizations
• Ability to train users
