Sr Data Analyst (Agoura Hills, CA)

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Gathering, researching, interpreting and analyzing Data and Business operations and processes to evaluate data credibility and efficacy in the development of companywide Data-Management systems
  • Analyzing data requirements
  • Developing Logical-Data Models and processes
  • Data Profiling
  • Documenting metadata requirements
  • Coordinating new data development
  • Ensuring consistency with existing databases and warehouses
  • Reviewing business requests for data and data usage
  • Researching data sources
  • Defining data-integration requirements
  • Completing projects in accordance with established Data-Content standards
  • Assisting in defining standards and best practices
  • Significantly influencing final decisions that have a direct and relevant impact on departmental, business-unit and/or companywide Data-Management systems
  • Providing analysis, recommendations, consultation, expert advice and subject-matter expertise
  • Working (as a Project Leader or Subject-Matter Expert) on multiple Data-Management Projects
  • Conducting complex Logical-Data Modeling, Data Acquisition and Access Analysis
  • Defining current- and future-state models, processes and procedures
  • Reviewing and defining best practices in Data Analysis and metadata
  • Evaluating complex business-operations and -processes to identify data requirements and sources
  • Reviewing and responding to new requests for data
  • Defining business-unit and/or enterprise-wide Data-Content standards

A Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelors (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (and/or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ year(s) of Data-Management experience
  • Expert knowledge of Data-Management concepts, practices and procedures
  • Advanced proficiency and experience with Data Design and Architecture
  • Expert knowledge of Logical and Physical Modeling and Development techniques using CASE tools
  • Expert knowledge of DBMS in multi-tiered, Client/Server environments
  • Expert knowledge of data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design and ETL tools, processes and methodology
  • Expert knowledge of Project-Management and SDLC processes and methodology
  • Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent presentational skills and ability to communicate complex designs to staff and Management

The Ideal Candidate May Also Possess: Post-graduate degree

  • Data Quality Initiative Lead
  • Participate in an Enterprise Data Stewardship program.
  • Lead and drive an Enterprise Data Quality Initiative.
  • Define Data Quality standards.
  • Educate and explain Data Quality, to promote its use throughout the company.
  • Work with executive stakeholders to engage groups, align priorities, create alliances.
  • Identify common needs across business units to define an enterprise solution strategy.
