Software Engineer, Machine Learning - Ask.com (Edison, NJ)

If so, Ask.com has a unique opportunity for you. We are looking for an expert in machine learning for search applications. You will work directly with the data that drives our flagship search products, applying ML techniques to everything from core offline processing to internal analysis to direct online search enhancements. You should feel comfortable working in multiple environments ranging from early prototype to full deployment.

Summary:

  • Apply machine learning techniques to a broad range of search applications.
  • Use machine learning to automate existing processes and to enable new capabilities.
  • Build fully scalable prototypes to test new algorithms and formulas.
  • Support analysis efforts throughout the organization.

Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong background in machine learning including feature discovery, formula optimization, and text classification.
  • Prior commercial experience in machine learning for search applications is strongly desired.
  • Wide familiarity with information retrieval and text analysis techniques.
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills including distributed massive-scale data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/Python).
  • Experience with Unix/Linux.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and innovation.
