Engineer, Statistical Signal Processing (Durham, NC)

Pay rate: 70,000 - 100,000

Signal Innovations Group, Inc. (SIG) is pioneering new data modeling methods and cutting-edge algorithm design for pattern recognition and decision systems. These technologies have enabled our customers to understand and exploit sensor data in new ways that break old performance barriers. SIG has developed analytic tools to perform customized decision-systems design and enhanced data understanding. SIG is continuing to develop and expand its suite of advanced tools for client-driven applications in the fields of:

• Bayesian Statistical Methods
• Machine Learning Techniques
• Supervised and Semi-supervised Kernel Classifier Design
• Optimal Experiments and Active Learning
• Game-Theoretic Decision Systems

This position will support research and development in machine learning, pattern recognition, statistical signal processing, and image and video processing. The position will work with other Signal Innovations Group (SIG) personnel to support MATLAB code development, documentation and data analysis for client-driven R&D programs.

Requirements:

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field
• Experience with artificial intelligence techniques (such as design of decision systems, and design of sensor and resource management algorithms)
• Experience with Bayesian statistical methods
• Proficiency using MATLAB
• US Citizenship
• Self-motivated to develop skills in new technical areas and to adapt to changing program emphasis
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
