Currently we are looking for "Data Mining Analyst" for our project at Columbus, IN.

Position: Data Mining Analyst
Location: Columbus, IN
Duration: 1 yr Contract

Job Description:

Involves building a knowledge base pertaining to specific diagnostics and troubleshooting scenarios, potential root causes and solutions, and potential questions that could be used troubleshoot product problems in the fewest steps possible. This knowledge base will be built by data mining the BMS work order system and warranty database, and by consulting system experts and the field service network. Other sources of data may also be used.

The primary job responsibilities for this position are:

• Using data/text mining tools to search through repair event history data contained in the BMS and warranty databases in order to identify the most common failure modes for each symptom, patterns and trends, and any other relational data that could be used to help aid the technician in the repair process.
• Consult system experts and the field service network in order to collect additional knowledge based on their experience with Cummins products.
• Assist in the development a database to house the extracted knowledge.

• Experience using SQL to access and manipulate data in Oracle databases
• Experience with data mining tools such as SPSS Clementine is highly desirable
• Experience related to data warehouse applications is highly desirable
• Knowledge of field service processes and procedures is highly desired.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
