Data Analyst - IEEE (Piscataway, NJ)

We are seeking a Data Analyst for membership activities in our Regional Activities department in Piscataway, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute ongoing analysis of member data including membership statistics and trends/deviations. Apply various quantitative methods to generate, analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources.
  • Complete standard and ad-hoc reporting including collection, preparation and archiving detailed statistical membership data for monthly and annual reporting. Collect and archive annual demographic membership data. Develop and distribute reports in response to volunteer and staff requests for ad hoc membership data and analyses.
  • Perform advanced analysis of member business data including development of models for determining expected impact of changes to member acquisition and retention strategies, member lifetime value analysis and scenario comparisons.
  • Maintenance and management of member data including cleansing/standardization for both monthly and annual member statistics.
  • Conduct business data analysis and projections for the member business including membership dues, promotions and projects.
  • Special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor?s degree in statistics, business, applied mathematics, economics, sociology or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
  • At least five to seven years experience in industry or in a membership association with data analysis, business statistics, market segmentation, lifetime value, CRM systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, manage and evaluate projects and processes
  • Ability to work independently and successfully in a group environment; prioritize and balance multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Results-oriented.
  • Financial analysis knowledge a plus.
  • Superior PC skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and database query software.
  • Proficiency in current reporting technologies; SAS, SPSS.
  • Understanding of member decision support tools.
