Web Analytics Analyst (San Diego, CA)

Job Description

Digitaria is a full-service digital marketing and technology firm headquartered in San Diego with additional offices in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Since 1997, Digitaria has consistently led the field in creating digital experiences online through Web sites, intranets, extranets, digital asset management, interactive marketing campaigns and business solutions that are both measurable and memorable.

We're looking to strengthen our Analytics group by hiring an experienced Analyst. This key hire will work with clients to meet their analytics needs, providing strategic and tactical analytics support. The successful applicant will have javascript experience, and will have direct experience of implementing tag based analytics solutions. Above all else the successful applicant needs to understand the analytics space inside out.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help clients establish their reporting objectives.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting, as well as irregular client requests.
  • Work closely with the web development team (particularly during site builds), ensuring they are correctly briefed on implementation executions.
  • Implement analytics tags: the successful candidate will be able to apply correct code to pages if necessary, and will be able to troubleshoot implementation problems.
  • Provide support in determining the factors affecting website visit behavior, conversion, and customer retention rates along with developing and maintaining key business metric reports for clients.
  • Conduct queries, data reviews and work with other data extraction, reporting and analytic tools to develop reporting in order to gauge, monitor and pinpoint areas for improvement within client’s web properties.
  • Participate in site re-designs and enhancements as a measurements expert, identifying reporting requirements, monitoring the reporting implementation and evaluating post-launch metrics.
  • Assist in evaluating the quantitative benefits of new business initiatives by having a thorough understanding of online customer behaviors.
  • Develop and conduct client training on a variety of Web analytics packages.
  • Share research findings and best practices with team and company including customer insight, benchmarking, and industry updates.

This is a client facing position that requires some travel (up to 20%), and a good deal of flexibility. Authorization to work in the US required.

Required Experience:

The Analyst must have:

  • 2-3 years experience in a Business / Web Analytics position.
  • 5+ years online experience.
  • Strong analytical background demonstrating an ability to collect data, analyze trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • An understanding of web strategy and design as well as competitive and consumer research principles.
  • Proficiency in database queries, data normalization, and other statistical packages preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of analytics solutions (particularly WebSideStory & Omniture tools).
  • Proven track record of delivering complete, accurate, and detailed results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation and creative problem solving are the skills required for success in this position. Attention to detail is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of staff and senior management required.
  • The ability to work closely with Digitaria internal teams as well as maintain strong communications and working relationships with external vendors and internal customers.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, Project and Outlook required.
