Biostatistician (Maidenhead, UK)

Our client, a full-service, global CRO, provides specialised services in all phases of research in more than 45 countries all over the world with a therapeutic focus on oncology, central nervous system, respiratory and infectious diseases. This is an outstanding starter role opportunity for MS level Biostatisticians with experience in statistical computing where successful candidates/s will join the company’s Biostatistics team at their UK headquarters in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

JOB ROLE: The Biostatistician contributes to statistical analysis plans and the statistical analysis and reporting of clinical studies, ensuring that activities and processes performed are conducted according to company and sponsor requirements. This position, which works closely with other project team members, requires time management skills, and statistical expertise.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Contributing to formal Statistical Analysis Plans to be carried out in the analysis of clinical studies.
  • Performing statistical analyses of data and interpreting results to ensure validity of conclusions.
  • Interacting with Data Management personnel as necessary to ensure that datasets are in usable format.
  • Performing statistical diagnostics prior to database locking.
  • Developing SAS programmes as assigned, for current clinical studies.
  • Interacting with medical writers in the production of statistical and integrated clinical/statistical reports and other documents containing statistical information.
  • Interacting with other departments, such as Clinical Operations and Project Management, to ensure a high level of client satisfaction through executing projects successfully.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • MS degree in Statistics.
  • Experience of statistical computing, preferably SAS.
  • The ability to perform statistical analysis of clinical data.
  • The ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
  • Computer proficiency required.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Positive attitude and works well with others.
