Web Analytics and Business Strategy Manager

Avenue A | Razorfish has an immediate opening for a Web Analytics and Business Strategy Manager in our New York office. Working with the Strategy Director, the Strategy Manager will support a major account and manage a team of analysts.

Overview

The Web Analytics and Business Strategy Manager is responsible for working with a cross-functional team to align the client’s needs and strategic business objectives. The Strategist is responsible for ongoing on-site metrics definition, reporting and analysis. In addition, the Strategist will provide support to all business and marketing strategy projects by conducting secondary and primary research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with AARF teams and clients to define measurable business goals
  • Lead site reporting activities including:
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Define diagnostics measures to support KPIs
    • Generate and delivering reports to clients on time and with zero defects
    • Create and standardize report templates
  • Interpret web analytics data, develop key insights and recommendations
  • Integrate web analytics with other measurement techniques including Flash interactions, online campaigns, audience surveys, and RSS analysis
  • Direct a team of analysts to extract and organize web analytics data
  • Lead and support client presentations and business development efforts with strategic thinking, research, and analysis
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to ad-hoc requests from clients and AARF teams
  • With Strategy Director, manage/ expand relationships and planning with third-party vendors, including defining statements of work, business requirements, and budgeting
  • Additional areas: Support Strategy Director with business and marketing strategy initiatives including competitive analysis, audience analysis, prioritization exercises, business case support
  • Provide ongoing updates to project team of industry trends, issues, site features and best practices

Requirements
  • 5- 8 years consulting, agency, or client-side experience in direct or related discipline
  • Experience presenting to clients
  • Familiarity with online analytics measures, terminology, benchmarks
  • Experience with web tracking tool such as Hitbox, Omniture, Coremetrics, or Webtrends
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing and business analysis, with an ability to frame complex business situations for analysis and development of recommendations
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to visually depict client business realities
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent writing and analysis skills, with high standards for quality of thinking
  • Ability to establish project deadlines and organize activities to meet all deliverables
  • Ability to manage up by properly engaging Strategy Director and account team
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex spreadsheets and data manipulation
  • Strong MS PowerPoint presentation skills – must present examples

Ideal Candidates also Possess
  • Understands log files, log file creation, click stream analysis
  • Background experience in statistics and/or online advertising
