Senior Data Analyst
Purpose:
To create and lead the development and implementation of innovative approaches in our data mining.
Essential Functions: - Identify opportunities to enhance and create models that will dictate our treatment of accounts. - Transform information into intelligence into results.
- Provide strategic recommendations for improving our systems and processes. - Serve as a member of the Analytics Leadership Team.
- Compose and maintain performance scorecards.
- Determine profitability targets for portfolio characteristics, including the point of diminishing return
- Competitor Performance Benchmarking
- Manage relationships as a liaison for Office of Default Management and other Nelnet divisions in resolving problems and/or issues.
- Establish various cost benefit financial models.
- Maintain default management process maps and update as needed
- As needed, represent the Office of Default Management at a variety of internal meetings in addition to conferences, client meetings, and school meetings.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience: - 5+ years experience developing, implementing and validating predictive models or related experience 5+ years experience in segmentation techniques, clustering and classification algorithms, predictive modeling technologies and statistical software packages, preferred Knowledge of data quality concepts, data management principles and data infrastructure Experience in collections and/or students loans is a plus
- Skills: Must have superb, self-direct analytical capabilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, development and documentation skills, listening comprehension, and organizational skills. Must demonstrate initiative, work productively with little supervision, and work effectively under critical time constraints. Must support management and work well with others in a team environment.
- Physical Activities/Working Conditions: General office environment with long hours sitting at desk working on computer. Some travel required.
