Research Positions (Lisbon, Portugal)

The Centre for Applied Mathematics and Economics CEMAPRE (cemapre.iseg.utl.pt) offers 4 research positions in Applied Mathematics, preferably focusing on Economic applications.

Cemapre is a research centre based at the Mathematics Department of ISEG, Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, the oldest school of Economics in Portugal, and it is part of the Technical University of Lisbon. The Centre is a research and scientific training unit established in 1984 and develops its activity mainly in the following areas:

Econometrics and Time Series
Actuarial Sciences and Applied Probability
Mathematical Finance
Stochastic Analysis
Dynamical Systems
Bayesian Statistics
Operations Research

Successful candidates are expected to engage in high-quality research activities, to interact with members of the Centre, to strengthen the Centre main research areas, and are also strongly encouraged to participate actively in all of Cemapre's scientific events. The Centre will provide all the necessary conditions for international-level research work. The working language is English.

The candidates will receive a salary in accordance with the university regulations. The contract offered will have the duration of up to 5 years, renewed yearly based on mutual agreement. The annual income, before taxes, will be of 42,532.84 Euro.

Requirements:

Candidates should have:

• a PhD in a related area relevant to the scientific interests of Cemapre's members,
• a high quality research record, proven research potential, and preferably 3 years of post-doctoral research experience.
