Statistician - The DuPont Applied Statistics Group (Wilmington, DE)
The DuPont Applied Statistics Group is an in-house leveraged statistics consulting organization comprising over 15 Statisticians. The group is a recognized leader in statistics, quality technology and improvement methodologies. This position offers an excellent career opportunity for a Consulting Statistician to develop and maintain broad-based application programs in market research, product quality, reliability, product development, and environmental areas. The diversified product lines of the DuPont Company offers many exciting opportunities to have high corporate impact in manufacturing, R&D, and technical marketing. Members of this dynamic group, centrally located in Wilmington, Delaware, regularly work together in developing and teaching short courses in statistics and Six Sigma methodology as an adjunct to their consulting. Some travel is required. This growing Center serves over 150 DuPont sites in the US, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America.
Qualifications
Minimum skills required, but not limited to:
MS or PhD in Statistics with some applied consulting and/or teaching experience required. Academic background in business, natural and engineering sciences desired. Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into statistical solutions. Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, teaching proficiency and leadership qualities. Knowledge and/or experience in application of Six Sigma methodology. Experience with commercial software packages (Minitab, JMP, ECHIP, etc).
