Hyperion Financial Manager (St Paul, MN)
SUMMARY
Seeking a highly motivated professional for Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)/Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM/UpStream) system administrator position. Prior system administrator experience for Hyperion Enterprise or Essbase would also be considered (training will be provided). This individual will be responsible for the following: - Function as a member of the project team and/or as a major contributor/subject matter expert responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of HFM and FDM applications.
- This position will work with the project team to ensure HFM/FDM system is available and accessible to financial users domestically and internationally.
- HFM/FDM Administrators occupy a key role in the Finance team. The team of HFM/FDM Administrators function as integrators between business needs and technology solutions, providing the interface between the finance and IT divisions to ensure successful implementation and support efforts.
General summary: Senior level position. Updates and maintains business/financial systems including exporting/importing of files into databases. Uses technology to collect, evaluate and analyze management information. Develops requirements and specifications and carries out project tasks to develop, design, automate, compile, prepare and test reports. May be responsible for planning, organizing and managing workflow, and/or act as project manager. May need to resolve complex issues.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
As a participant of our overall HFM/FDM development team: - Develop and maintain all technical aspects of the HFM Application which includes constructing metadata changes, maintenance of application structures, rule changes, grid development, object maintenance, etc.
- Build and modify complex reports and create reporting solutions for global users
- Proactively review application design and make recommendations for design enhancements.
- Participate in overall effort to ensure HFM & FDM applications are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve HFM and FDM/Upstream user questions and issues where possible and work with the IT department to address issues that might require joint attention.
- Develop and update training documentation.
- Monitor and report to project management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective action.
- Ensure overall system stability of HFM and FDM/Upstream applications
The position will also be responsible for continued development & maintenance of FDM/Upstream application.- Designing & prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementation.
- Develop logic and methodologies for mapping tables, loading data, designing logic groups. creating import scripts, etc.
- Provide technical guidance to users and management.
General duties and responsibilities: Meet management information needs of internal and external clients according to established standards, including problem research/resolution and customer education. Help management develop strategic goals and objectives of the unit. Advise business partners on the best way for the reporting systems to accommodate changes/new requirements. Analyze customer requests for changes/new requirements to production system, determine impact on existing systems processes and develop appropriate specifications, enhancements and/or procedures to comply. Influence others to operate in a more cost-effective manner. Provides technical guidance on more complex issues.
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
Work Experience
Knowledge of relevant technology is critical. Experience in one or more of these technologies is required: - Experience with financial consolidations & reporting using HFM a plus (preferably System 9)
- Experience with data transformation tools (FDM/UpStream) a plus
- Experience with VB Scripting a plus
- Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (Hyperion Reports, Smartview, Retrieve, etc.) a plus
- Experience with Hyperion Enterprise or Essbase a plus
- Hyperion implementation experience and skills a plus
Knowledge of additional technologies is also important:- Experience with ETL tools such as DataStage a plus
- Experience with GEAC ledger (current ledger) or PeopleSoft ledger (new) a plus
- Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and/or SQL
