Statistical Site Modeler, Consultant - Pitney Bowes (Ann Arbor, MI)
Pitney Bowes MapInfo, a global software solutions leader, seeks a Statistical Site Modeler - Consultant for our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. The Statistical Site Modeler - Consultant is responsible for building site selection models and conducting analyses for our retail, restaurant, real estate and financial industry clients, under the supervision of senior staff. We are the worldwide leader of Location Intelligence solutions; an integration of software, data and services that results in greater value from location based information and solutions. The right candidate will be an integral part of our talented team, contributing to Pitney Bowes MapInfo’s continued growth.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Analyze and manipulate large and complex data sets using various software tools.
- Evaluate the reliability of source information and organize results into a form compatible to conducting retail analysis.
- Conduct statistical analyses such as multivariate regression and CHAID/CART, among others, under direction of client and technical managers.
- Production of reports, maps, data, and presentation of material for clients and ad-hoc internal/external requests.
Qualifications:- Undergraduate degree or Masters (preferred) from a four-year college or university in Geography, Statistics, Marketing or other similar research fields, is required.
- 2-3 years experience in quantitative research (in the retail/site analysis field preferred); or equivalent combination or education and business experience.
- Strong PC proficiency. Specific experience with GIS software and mapping (MapInfo or ArcView), statistical (SPSS or SAS) and database (FoxPro or SQL or Access) software required.
- Strong data manipulation skills with large datasets.
- Understanding of descriptive, parametric and non-parametric statistics (application and interpretation both of equal importance).
- Experience with retail site selection methods is a must.
- Familiarity with geographical concepts and/or demographics.
- Must be an effective communicator, team player and possess high motivation, creativity and an ability to work well under deadline pressure.
